Marriage Convention in Poland

Frequently, it was held outside in landscapes, woodland and buildings. They were a celebration of life and the reward of characteristics. Today, however, many couples choose to forgo the religion and basically have a service in their home or backyard with close family and friends. On the day of the bride, just before midnight ( or around it if a one- morning bride), comes the famous ceremony known as “oczepiny”, the unveiling of the bride. At this point, the mask is removed and she dons her czepek – a cover worn by Polish maidens to depict their reputation as wedded people. This is also when the long braids are unbraided and cut small, as a symbol of her move from girlhood to woman.

As the few leave the church, guests wash them with currencies and particles, to give them polish mail order brides luck and prosperity. They next change into their bash clothes. It is also classic to put tiny, circular coins into the couple’s locks– whoever collects the most will get in charge of their finances.

The bash begins, and you’ll find a lot of dancing going on. Poles feel that this reduces the side effects of too much having. There will be a lot of food too, including lots of different types of sweets, sweets and ice cream.
